I hadn't received a letter in the mail yet for Samantha's results of the GATE test she took, so I called the district office yesterday. Samantha qualified for the program, and finished in the 99 percentile. So we will have first pick of which school we would like to attend. Turlock has 2 campuses that house the GATE program, Julien and Cunningham. We will pick Julien because of the location and because our friend Rachelle knows all the teachers there. Sam will start 4th grade and continue through 5th and 6th.
I told Samantha when she got home from school today and she was so excited she started to cry! She's looking forward to the challenge of the program and meeting new friends. We'll find out more details when we attend the orientation meeting in a few weeks.

How exciting. She's a smartie pants! Give her a big hug for me too. She's growing up too fast.
That is so great! She will LOVE Mrs. Morgan. It will be right up her alley. And if you are taking a little afternoon nap and can't make it to pick her up, she can walk to my house! Isn't that great!
Kellie...I went to Julien!! 2-5th grades. I'm thinking they don't have any of the same teachers now...and that's where I got my first kiss, by the swings from Keith Johnson. Sigh.
