Hannah Montana was at our house...

Or was it just her hair? Lyndee's mom took her shopping for clothes on Monday and she talked her into a wig as well. We made Alex try it on.

I've been a fan of Hannah Montana aka Miley Cyrus since the beginning but my views of her have recently changed. She preformed on American Idol's "Idol Gives Back" show and I felt she acted way to provocative for a 15 year old. Neil and I couldn't believe the sex appeal she was throwing out to the audience. And so many pre-teen girls look up to her. I worry that my own girls will want to grow up to fast. I hope that Miley's parents will give her rules and boundries appropriate for her age. I wonder if she will become the next Britany Spears, growing up way to fast, no rules, every boundary crossed before she left adolesence.

Motorcycle Divas

Last Friday Neil took Samantha and Lyndee on their first ever motorcycle ride. Samantha has recently shown interest in taking a ride with her Daddy which got the ball rolling for him to order her a pink helmet. He wanted to get her a beautiful pink leather jackie for her birthday (March 31st) but I wouldn't let him. Can you tell he is THRILLED that she has shown interest!! The ride lasted for 30min. for each of them and when they returned there was a perma-grin on their face.

Dance Party USA!!

The kids love to put on performances for Neil and I. Now that Lyndee is part of the family, she brings her innate ability to dance, flip and sing. Samantha has long been a fan of creative play, opting for it over toys. Alex loves to get in there too and he can almost do a perfect handstand. Lately the music has come from High School Musical 2 and I know almost all of the words to the songs. This particular evening brought Neil and I a great laugh do to the costumes!

Bunk bed renovation

After Cousin Bev moved out of the house we were able to separate the kids into their own rooms and slip the bunk bed at the same time. As time has passed and Samantha has gained popularity among her friends, we are finding that we need extra beds in our house. A bigger house would be even better but we are happily putting that off for the time being. So as I type this post, my handsome husband is putting together a new bunk bed for Sam's room. It is a futon style so we had to buy the mattress for it and we decided to buy Samantha a new mattress. She has been complaining that her bed is way to hard and it gives her a stiff neck. The old mattress is going on Alex's top bunk. The kids are at my mom's house tonight so there will be squeals of joy tomorrow evening. The bunk beds have been more anticipated than Christmas.
